Last full day in The States
Today we finished up or pre-service training. Not much to tell about that just more policy and procedure type of stuff. Glad to be done with it and moving on to the next thing. The best thing about training is certainly getting to know the other volunteers a little bit before we head out.
After training Lydia and I wend down to the Washington Mall for a little while. It was raining at first but not too bad so we thought we better see it now since this is the first time we have been to D.C. and the last time we will be here for awhile. It was only about a 20 minuet walk from our hotel to the White House. We saw what we suspect was a presidential motorcade on the way, which was surprising to us but nobody else seem to notice but then again they live here and probably see it all the time. The White House was cool. A lot smaller then you would expect from all the pics. We also went to the Washington Monument, WW2 Memorial, Reflecting Pool, Vietnam Memorial and the Lincoln Monument. Those were all really cool. Especially the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial which are both huge.
Tomorrow we have to get a bunch of shots at the clinic and then fly out in the evening. So the next update will be from The Gambia.
